A lunch that was 45 years overdue
North York Flames, circa 1978 |
• My best guess is this hockey picture was taken in 1978…the year this group was last together. Yesterday myself (top row, far right) and 3 other team members met up for lunch at a Firkin pub in Toronto. A conversation that was 45 years overdue! Amazing how we pretty much picked up where we left off… still friends, still teammates, still knowing we've got each other's back. If the coaches hadn't bothered with a team picture that year, I doubt any of us would have batted an eye. But 45 years later I sure am grateful to have this memory.
The three I had lunch with were;
• Neil Harris - front row, 2nd from left
• Ben Hunter - back row, 2nd from left
• Rob Perrault - middle row, 3rd from right
• and again, that's me, Bob Rodkin - back row, far right
The best of memories ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Pope Francis just became my favourite Pope…again
Pope Francis is now allowing priests to bless same sex unions. He says such unions should not be subject to “exhaustive moral analysis” and that anyone seeking God‘s love and mercy should receive it.
Millions of lives will be released from judgement by this, many families reconciled, many hearts given comfort that were tormented before.
Much respect for him for this. This is truly a great thing.

Didn’t even feel like another coffee today, but…
Didn't even feel like another coffee today, but I was at a shop with a Starbucks right beside so what could I do? The pull of the caffeine is just too strong.

The Long Road
You're older than you used to be
The mirror weaves a tapestry
Of lines that dance and shimmer 'round your eyes
You stare back at a man, forever holding out his hand
As if the answer's going to fall out of the sky
The mirror weaves a tapestry
Of lines that dance and shimmer 'round your eyes
You stare back at a man, forever holding out his hand
As if the answer's going to fall out of the sky
But the penny never dropped
And no man has ever stopped time flying by
And no man has ever stopped time flying by
